Description
The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting and expanding our research mission. The candidate is expected to conduct research, teach nephrology fellows/trainees and mentor junior faculty as appropriate based on rank. Physician-scientists are expected to provide nephrology care in our clinical settings. The candidate must have an established track record that includes successful National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF) or other government/foundation funding and peer-reviewed papers in high impact journals. Domestic and international candidates will be considered. Candidates will be considered with research interests that focus on increasing the understanding of kidney physiology and kidney diseases.

The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension consists of 34 faculty members with a research portfolio focusing on acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, bone and mineral disorders, diabetic kidney disease, hypertension, polycystic kidney disease, glomerular diseases, and cardio-metabolic and kidney axis. The division participates in the NIH-funded George M. O’Brien Kidney National Research Consortium and a network of institutions awarded Institutional Network Awards (U2C/TL1) funded by the Division of Kidney, Urologic, and Hematologic (KUH) of the NIDDK. The division receives over $12 million per year in NIH funding.
